Our own Julie Muench (Senior Honda, #72) is raising
funds for this very worthwhile cause. She will also be cutting off more
than 10 inches of her long blonde hair in October, to have a wig made for a
child living with cancer.
Hair loss in children, especially during a time when they already find
themselves struggling with painful and difficult medical conditions, can have a
devastating effect on their self-esteem.
Angel Hair for Kids provides human hair wigs for
children from financially disadvantaged families who have lost their hair as a
result of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, burns, and other medical
conditions.
It costs between $800 and $1200 to
make each wig. Julie will have official sponsorship sheets at the
next race, and income tax receipts are available for any donation over $20.00.
If everybody could make a small contribution, it would be greatly appreciated.
